(T.3466 of 1991

BOOTMAKERS AWARD

COMMISSIONER R.K. GOZZI

HOBART, 3 October 1991

State Wage Case August 1991 - 2.5% increase

REASONS FOR DECISION

In this matter the Federated Clerks Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch, (FCU) sought the consent variation of the Bootmakers Award to reflect the increase in wage rates and work-related allowances in accordance with the 13 August 1991 State Wage Case1.

The parties informed the Commission that the pre-conditions for the increases as set out in paragraphs (a) to (g) of Principle 2 - Structural Efficiency had been satisfied. Whilst I concur with the submissions of the parties, I am concerned that there has been such a delay in instigating the minimum rates adjustment in this award. I understand from the parties that this will be attended to and in that context paragraph (g) has been complied with.

In the circumstances the award will the varied operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 8 November 1991.

The order is attached.
