Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.65A application for determination of award interest

Plumbers and Gasfitters Employees' Union of Australia
Tasmania Branch

(T.3499 of 1991)

BUILDING TRADES AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

29 October 1991

Award interest - certificate of registration

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application was made by the Plumbers and Gasfitters Employees' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch, pursuant to section 65A of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 for the purpose of having their certificate of registration recalled and reissued having been amended to delete the Building Trades Award on the grounds that they no longer have an interest in that award.

As a result of restructuring the abovementioned award, in accordance with the Wage Fixing Principles, plumbers who previously fell within the Scope of the Building Trades Award, are now covered by the Plumbers Award.

That being the case, I find that the Plumbers and Gasfitters Employees' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch, no longer has an interest in that award being the subject of this application and therefore their certificate of registration should be varied to reflect that situation and I decide accordingly.

These matters will be finalised by the Registrar.
