TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Minister Administering the State Service Act 1984 PRINTING STAFF - GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE AWARD
Award - rescission of award REASONS FOR DECISION These applications made by the Minister Administering the State Service Act 1984 (the Minister), which were joined at the outset, were for the rescission of the Supervisory and Technical Staff Government Printing Office Award and the Printing Staff - Government Printing Office Award (the Awards). In support of the applications the Minister cited three reasons:
The Minister submitted that the Commission is empowered under Section 22(7) of the Act to rescind the Awards and, furthermore, that Section was availed of by other members of the Commission to rescind awards1. There was no opposition to the applications. The Tasmanian Public Service Association did not appear at the hearing, but advised beforehand that it had no objection to the applications. As indicated at the hearing, I endorse the Minister's submissions and the Awards will be rescinded. Orders are attached.
