(T.3520 of 1991)

TRANSPORT WORKERS GENERAL AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

25 November 1991

Wage rates - Minimum Rates Adjustment

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application made under Section 23 of the Act by the Transport Workers' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (the Union) for the third and fourth Minimum Rates Adjustments (MRA's) to be included in the Transport Workers General Award (the Award).

The MRA process in the Award was accepted and commenced on the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 March 1991 in matter T2894 of 1991.

Operative from 1 September 1991, the second MRA was included in the Award through matter T3162 of 1991.

In its submission in support of the application the Union advised that with its acceptance by the Commission the MRA process and the broadbanding of classifications exercise would be completed in the Award as foreshadowed in the original application cited previously.

The Union also sought for the increases to operate from the first full pay period to commence on or after 15 November 1991.

The Tasmanian Confederation of Industries advised its agreement to the application and the date of operation sought.

I confirm that this application is consistent with the process endorsed in the decision in the original application and it is granted, therefore, operative from the first full pay period commencing on or after 15 November 1991.

An order is attached.
