Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Federated Liquor and Allied Industries Employees' Union of Australia
Tasmanian Branch

(T.3549 of 1991)

LICENSED CLUBS AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT A ROBINSON

HOBART 27 November 1991

First Minimum Rates Adjustment

REASONS FOR DECISION

This matter concerns an application by the Federated Liquor and Allied Industries Employees Union, Tasmanian Branch to vary the Licensed Clubs Award by introducing the first minimum rates adjustment available under current Wage Fixation Principles.

The matter is one of consent apart from the question of operative date.

It was declared by the parties that in calculating the adjustment they have had regard for the achievement of national rates of pay for common classifications of a like standard, supported by appropriate definitions.

Because some Tasmanian rates of pay are accepted as being ahead of counterpart awards in other jurisdictions, no adjustment will apply to them at this time, and the adjustments overall will be uneven.

Since the proposed variation is consistent with the objectives of the Wage Fixation Principles; would not offend public interest criteria; and is by consent, the application is granted and the award will be varied accordingly.

DATE OF EFFECT

This variation shall have effect from the first full pay period to commence on or after 15 December 1991.

Orders to be submitted by the parties.
