Award variation - meal times clause

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application made under Section 23 of the Act by the Transport Workers' Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (the Union) for an amendment to be made to the Carriers Award (the Award).

The amendment sought was actually for a correction to be made whereby the word "on" appearing in the Meal Times clause in the Award was to be deleted and replaced with the word "or".

The Tasmanian Confederation of Industries agreed that a correction was necessary and supported the Union's application.

The parties agreed for the proposed amendment to operate from the first full pay period commencing on or after 3 December 1991.

I endorse the application: the amendment will operate from the agreed date.
