COMMISSIONER R K GOZZI

HOBART, 16 July 1992

Name change due to amalgamation

REASONS FOR DECISION

These joined applications by the Construction Forestry and Mining Employees Union, Tasmanian Branch (CFMEU) are to include the name of that organisation in the "Parties and Persons Bound" clause of the following awards:

The inclusion of the CFMEU is as a result of the amalgamation between The Building Workers Industrial Union of Australia, The Australian Timber and Allied Industries Union and the United Miners Federation of Australia (UMFA). The amalgamations were not simultaneous, with the first two aforementioned employee organisations amalgamating first; followed by an amalgamation with UMFA. All changes have been recognised by the Registrar of this Commission.

Accordingly the awards subject to these applications will be varied by deleting references to The Building Workers Union of Australia, Tasmanian Branch (and The Australian Timber and Allied Industries Union No 6 Branch (Tasmanian Branch in the Electrolytic Zinc Award) and the CFMEU substituted in lieu.

The orders operative from 2 July 1992 are attached.
