TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union MEAT TRADES AWARD
Alteration to name due to amalgamation REASONS FOR DECISION This application by the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, Tasmanian Branch (CFMEU) sought the variation of the Meat Trades Award to reflect the name change of the Construction Forestry Mining Employees Union, Tasmanian Branch to the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, Tasmanian Branch, in the Parties and Persons Bound clause of the Meat Trades Award. The name change is consequential to the amalgamation of the Construction Forestry and Mining Employees Union, The Federated Engine Drivers' and Firemem's Association of Australasia and The Operative Plasterers and Plaster Workers' Association of Australia to form the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union. This amalgamation was finalised in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission in September 1992 and in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in December 1992. Accordingly with regard to the Meat Trades Award, all that is required is for the name of the new organisation, the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, Tasmanian Branch, to be included and the name of the previous organisation to be deleted. The variation is endorsed, operative from 5 February 1993. The order is attached.
