TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 The Australian Workers' Union, DAIRY PROCESSING AWARD
Wage rates - State Wage November 1989 - final minimum rates adjustment - Principles satisfied - consent matter - application granted - award varied - first full pay period commencing on or after 10 June 1993 REASONS FOR DECISION This matter concerns an application by the Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch, to vary the Dairy Processing Award by the granting of the final minimum rates adjustment. This award had earlier been significantly restructured and modernised with the establishment of a proper classification structure, now definitions, and fixed relativities between wage rates in accordance with established Wage Fixing Principles. The granting of the final minimum rates adjustments is one of consent with the AWU having earlier accepted that absorption to the extent necessary may occur. I find that the application meets the requirements of the Principles and its grant would be consistent with public interest requirements of the Act. Accordingly the application is granted in the terms sought. Operative Date of Effect The foregoing variation shall have effect from the first full pay period commencing on or after 10 June 1993. Order is attached.
