Amalgamation

REASONS FOR DECISION

This is an application for amalgamation pursuant to Section 67A of the Act lodged jointly by The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch and the Federation of Industrial, Manufacturing and Engineering Employees, Tasmania Branch.

After hearing the applicants I am satisfied that the requirements of Section 67A(2)(a) and (b) have been met and accordingly the application is granted and the amalgamated organisation is registered effective from 1 December 1993.

In accordance with the requirements of Section 67A(3)(a) the registration of both organisations is cancelled and a certificate of registration in the name of The AWU-FIME Amalgamated Union, Tasmania Branch will be issued bearing the names of those awards in which both of the deregistered organisations formerly held an interest.
