(T.5018 of 1994)

PRINTERS AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

13 April 1994

Wage rates - minimum rates adjustment principle - 3rd increase

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (the Union) for the third Minimum Rates Adjustment (MRA) to be implemented in the Printers Award (the Award).

The Union reminded the Commission that MRA's had been introduced to the Award when restructuring under the Structural Efficiency Principle took place in matter T3923 of 1992.

Under the MRA process then introduced the third MRA was due on 7 April 1994.

The Union produced a draft order as an exhibit and, in support of its application, submitted that it was not against the public interest and conformed with the current Principles of the Commission.

The Union requested that the amendment operate from the first full pay period to commence on or after 7 April 1994.

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited confirmed the details put forward by the Union and indicated its consent to the application and the operative date requested.

The Award will be amended, as requested, operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 7 April 1994.

An order is attached.
