TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.65A application for determination of award interest

Registrar
(T.5076 of 1994)

METAL AND ENGINEERING INDUSTRY AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

10 June 1994

Award interest - Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was a determination of interest matter referred to me by the President in accordance with Section 63(10)(b) of the Act.

The Registrar, on 25 May 1994, approved the registration of The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (the Association): he then handed the matter to the President so that it could be referred to a Commissioner for relevant determinations of interest to be considered.

The Association sought an interest in the Metal and Engineering industry Award (the Award).

In support of its application the Association quoted Section 63(10)(c) of the Act and submitted, by reference to each of the requirements therein, that it satisfied them all.

The Automotive, Food, Metals and Engineering Union supported the Association's application.

I am satisfied that the Association has fulfilled all the requirements of the Act as to interest in the Award. I, therefore, determine that interest in the Award be granted to the Association with effect from 9 June 1994.

The file will be forwarded to the Registrar in accordance with Section 63(12) of the Act.
