TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for an award or variation of an award

Automotive, Food, Metals and Engineering Union

RESTAURANT KEEPERS AWARD
(T.5175 of 1994)

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

7 October 1994

Award variation - parties and persons bound - deletion of Automotive, Food, Metals and Engineering Union

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by the Automotive, Food, Metals and Engineering Union (the Union) for the deletion of its name from the Parties and Persons Bound Clause of the Restaurant Keepers Award (the Award).

In its submissions the Union advised the Commission that it had no members covered by the jurisdiction of the Award nor was it likely to enlist any in the future. The Union said it had no interest in the Award at all and therefore requested that its name be deleted forthwith.

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited supported the Union's submissions and consented to the deletion.

The Union's name will be deleted from the Award as requested. It will then be for the Union to apply under Section 65A of the Act to have its formal interest in the Award removed.

An order, operative from the date of this decision, is attached.
