s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union
(T5198 of 1994)

RUBBER TRADES AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

26 September 1994

Award variation - minimum rates adjustment - second increase

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application made by the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (the Union) for a second Minimum Rates Adjustment (MRA) to be applied to the Rubber Trades Award (the Award).

The Union advised the Commission that the MRA process had been introduced into the Award following a decision in April 1994 in matters T.3789 of 1992, T.3815 of 1992 and T.4965 of 1994. This application merely sought to continue the MRA process begun then by the implementation of the second MRA.

Also, in accordance with standard practice the Union requested that the second MRA commence to operate from the first full pay period to commence on or after 15 October 1994.

The Union also produced (after the hearing) an agreed schedule for the full MRA implementation process in the Award; such a schedule had not been produced at the original hearing.

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited confirmed its consent to the application and the operative date sought.

The Award will be amended as requested, operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 15 October 1994.

An order is attached.
