TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Health Services Union of Australia HOSPITALS AWARD
Award variation - $8 safety net adjustment REASONS FOR DECISION In this matter the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No 1 Branch (HACSU) made application to vary the Hospitals Award in respect of the first $8.00 a week Arbitrated Safety Net adjustment as determined in the State Wage Case1 in December 1994. The variation was supported by the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (TCCI) subject to sighting the proposed order to be forwarded by HACSU to the TCCI. As the Hospitals Award is a paid rates award, the issues relating to format of orders as discussed in the proceedings and as they may relate to minimum rates awards do not arise. Accordingly as the application is in compliance with the December 1994 State Wage Case the award will be varied in the manner requested. The order will be issued following confirmation of agreement between the parties on the draft order submitted with the application and subsequent vetting by the Commission. The operative date of the order [correction order] will be from the first full pay period to commence on or after 6 February 1995.
