Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance,
Tasmania Branch

(T.5527 of 1995)

BROADCASTING AND TELEVISION AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT ROBINSON

HOBART, 20 June 1995

Award variation - union amalgamation - delete all reference to Actors Equity of Australia, Victorian Division and the Australian Theatrical and Amusement Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch - insert Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, Tasmania Branch - consent matter - award varied - operative 20 June 1995

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, Tasmania Branch, to vary Clause 6 - Parties and Persons Bound of the Broadcasting and Television Award by giving effect to that organisation's name change.

By decision of 17 May 1994 the Registrar cancelled the registration of the Australian Theatrical and Amusement Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch, and the Actors Equity of Australia, Victorian Division, which had amalgamated.

Subsequently a certificate of registration was issued in the name of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, Tasmania Branch bearing the names of those awards in which the deregistered organisations formally held an interest.

Given these circumstances I am satisfied that the application for a name change in this award is justified and accordingly the application is granted with effect from 20 June 1995.

Order is attached.

A. Robinson
