BOOTMAKERS AWARD

DEPUTY PRESIDENT A ROBINSON

HOBART, 28 June 1995

Wage Rates - State Wage Case December 1994 - Second $8 Arbitrated Safety Net Adjustment - application granted - award varied - operative ffpp 21 June 1995

REASONS FOR DECISION

This matter concerns an application by the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union, Tasmanian Branch to vary the Bootmakers Award by the granting of the second arbitrated safety net adjustment.

The claim was based upon the Commission's Wage Fixing principles which were reviewed by a Full Bench in its decision1 of 20 December 1994. I now confirm my decision given on the day of the hearing to grant the claim for the following reasons:

1.  Demonstrated compliances with principle 7.2.2.

2.  I am satisfied that to grant the claim would be consistent with the public interest.

Date of Effect

The aforementioned award variation shall have effect from the first full pay period to commence on or after 21 June 1995.

Order is attached.
