Award variation - union name change - delete all reference to Tasmanian Prison Officers Association - insert Tasmanian Correctional Officers Association - awards varied - operative 17 November 1995 REASONS FOR DECISION These three applications which were joined for hearing purposes were made by the Tasmanian Correctional Officers Association (TCOA) and sought amendments to the Custodial Officers Award, the General Officers Award and the General Conditions of Service Award (the three awards). The applications sought to delete the name Tasmanian Prison Officers Association (TPOA) from the three awards, wherever appearing, and inserting in lieu thereof the name Tasmanian Correctional Officers Association. The TPOA, by a certificate of registration dated 22 September 1995, under the Trades Unions Act 1889, changed its name to the TCOA as from the 1 September 1995. The Registrar of the Commission had previously altered the name of the TCOA from the TPOA on the Commission's Certificate of Registration effective from 1 September 1995. The Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) advised the Commission that it had no objections to the Award variations sought. The TCOA formally requested that the amendments be made. I am satisfied that all the requirements have been fulfilled and I endorse the applications. The amendments will operate from the 17 November 1995. Orders are attached.
