TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or award variation

The Tasmanian Independent Schools Teachers Association
(T.6142 of 1995)

INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (TEACHERS) TASMANIA AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

HOBART, 7 May 1996

Award variation - name change - delete all reference to The Tasmanian Registered Teachers' Association - insert The Tasmanian Independent Schools Teachers Association - application granted - award varied - operative date 7 May 1996

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application, lodged by The Tasmanian Independent Schools Teachers Association (the applicant), was for the purpose of varying the Independent Schools (Teachers) Tasmania Award, by changing the name of the organisation in Clause 6 - Parties and Persons Bound.

On 14 March 1996 the Registrar of the Commission approved an application to amend the rules of the Tasmanian Registered Teachers' Association. This resulted in a new Certificate of Registration being issued under the name of The Tasmanian Independent Schools Teachers Association.

That being the case, it is appropriate that this name be reflected in the parties and persons clause contained in the Independent Schools (Teachers) Tasmania Award, and I decide accordingly.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached, which will be operative on and from 7 May 1996.
