s.23 application for award variation

Southern Regional Cemetery Trust
(T.6167 of 1996)

SOUTHERN REGIONAL CEMETERY TRUST STAFF AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

HOBART, 13 May 1996

Award variation - wage rates - appendix - National Training Wage - application granted - op. date 6/5/96

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application, lodged by the Southern Regional Cemetery Trust (the applicant), was for the purpose of varying the Southern Regional Cemetery Trust Staff Award.

The applicant sought a new provision (by way of an appendix) in the award to enable a person to be employed under similar terms and conditions to those applying under the various Tasmanian State Service National Training Wage agreements registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission.

The application was not opposed by any party present at the hearing.

The application is consistent with a number of decisions arising out of the Commission relating to the National Training Wage and therefore the award will be varied to reflect that position, and I decide accordingly.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative on and from 6 May 1996.
