TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Shop Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union and Fosseys (Australia) Pty Ltd
Industrial dispute - pending or likely termination of employment, January 1997 - applications withdrawn - files closed REASONS FOR DECISION These applications, lodged by the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch and the Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union - Tasmanian Branch, respectively (the applicants), pursuant to section 29 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, were for the purpose of settling a dispute with Fosseys (Australia) Pty Ltd (the employer) in relation to the pending or likely termination of employment, when the employer's Hobart store ceases operation. When these matters resumed hearing on 18 November 1996 the parties requested a further adjournment to enable further private discussions to take place. At a later hour that day the Commission was advised by Mr P Griffin and Mr D Matthewson, for the applicants, that they no longer wished to pursue these applications and they requested that the respective files be closed. That being the case and as there is nothing for the Commission to determine, the files are now closed.
