REASONS FOR DECISION

This application (as amended) was lodged by the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (TCCI), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act, for the purpose of varying the Abattoirs Award.

Specifically, the application sought to correct minor errors that appeared in Order No.5 of 1996 relating to the granting of the third $8 safety net adjustment in matters T6313 and T6359 of 1996.

I am satisfied that the variations sought properly reflect the intentions of the parties and the decision of the Commission arising out of T6313 and T6359 of 1996.

Given the forgoing, the award will be varied as per the application and will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 21 August 1996 to coincide with the operative date of the 3rd safety net adjustment of this award.
