TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Tasmanian Trades and Labor Council
(T6486 of 1996)

NATIONAL TRAINING WAGE (TASMANIAN PRIVATE SECTOR) AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

HOBART, 25 October 1996

Award variation - National Training Wage - extension to list of industries covered - application granted - remainder reserved - operative 25 October 1996

REASONS FOR DECISION

The National Training Wage (Tasmanian Private Sector) Award has application to a number of industries covered by existing awards of the Commission and they are specified in Schedule A of the said award.

This application, lodged by the Tasmanian Trades and Labor Council, seeks to vary the National Training Wage (Tasmanian Private Sector) Award to include in Schedule A of that award, the Child Care and Childrens Services Award.

The matter comes before the Commission as a consent application.

Having heard the submissions of the parties I am satisfied that the application should be granted as it is not contrary to the Wage Fixing Principles, nor the public interest requirements of the award.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative on and from 25 October 1996.
