WHOLESALE PLANT BAKERIES AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

HOBART, 29 October 1996

Award variation - third and final minimum rate adjustment - consent matter - Principles satisfied - application granted - award varied - operative ffpp 28 October 1996

REASONS FOR DECISION

On the 2 October 1995 the Commission handed down a decision arising out of an application1 that varied the Wholesale Plant Bakeries Award, to include the first and second minimum rate adjustment operative from the first full pay period to commence on after 9 October 1995.

This current application was lodged with the Commission for the purpose of varying the Wholesale Plant Bakeries Award to reflect the third and final minimum rate adjustment for the same categories of employee.

The parties presented an agreed position in support of the variation in wage rates with an operative date of the first full pay period to commence on or after 28 October 1996.

Having had the benefit of hearing the submissions of the parties and having considered the contents of the draft Order, Exhibit A.1, I hereby determine that the award be varied in the manner sought by the parties, as it is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act and is the final phase of the agreed minimum rate adjustment process for this award.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and it will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 28 October 1996.
