TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s23 application for award or variation of award

The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch
(T6627 of 1996)

GOLIATH CEMENT ENTEPRISE AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

Hobart, 10 January 1997

Award variation - Clause 6 - Parties and Persons Bound - application granted - operative 20 Dec 96

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application by The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch (the AWU) for a variation to be made to the Goliath Cement Enterprise Award (the Award).

The AWU sought to correct an omission from the Parties and Persons Bound Clause of the Award.

At the hearing, after some private discussions between the parties, an agreed draft amendment was presented to the Commission.

I am satisfied that the agreed draft order does better reflect the requirements of the Act, the wishes of the parties and terminology more appropriate to an enterprise award.

The application is approved operative from 20 December 1996.

An order is attached.
