TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union SURVEYORS (PRIVATE INDUSTRY) AWARD
Award variation - fourth minimum rate adjustment - classification levels C1 to C4 - consent matter - application granted - award varied - operative ffpp 24 June 1997 REASONS FOR DECISION This application, lodged by the Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union (the applicant), was for the purpose of varying the Surveyors (Private Industry) Award to apply the fourth and final Minimum Rate Adjustment (MRA) for classification levels C1 to C4 inclusive. The matter came before the Commission with the consent of the parties. This fourth MRA formed part of an agreed program established at the commencement of the MRA process. This agreement is consistent with that program and the Wage Fixing Principles and therefore the award will be varied in the manner sought. In respect of the operative date, it was agreed that if the draft Order was forwarded to the Commission by close of business on 18 June 1997, the award would be varied from the first full pay period to commence on or after 17 June 1997. However, if that was not forthcoming it was also agreed that the award would be varied from the date of the decision. The Commission did not receive the final draft Order until 23 June 1997. Given the foregoing the award will be varied from the first full pay period to commence on or after 24 June 1997. The Order giving effect to this decision is attached.
