Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union
(T7605 of 1998)

SURVEYORS (PRIVATE INDUSTRY) AWARD

COMMISSIONER R J WATLING

HOBART, 27 July 1998

Award variation - third minimum rate adjustment - classification levels C5 to C11 - consent matter - application granted - award varied - operative ffpp 27 July 1998

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application, lodged by the Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union (the applicant), was for the purpose of varying the Surveyors (Private Industry) Award to apply the third Minimum Rate Adjustment for classification levels C5 to C11 inclusive.

The matter came before the Commission with the consent of the parties. This minimum rate adjustment formed part of an agreed program1 established at the commencement of the MRA process.

I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and does not offend the public interest requirements of the Act, therefore the award will be varied in the manner sought.

The variations will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 27 July 1998.

The Order giving effect to this decision is attached.
