TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union SURVEYORS (PRIVATE INDUSTRY) AWARD
Award variation - State Wage Case July 1996 - third $8.00 safety net adjustment - consent matter - application granted - award varied - operative ffpp 1 September 1998 REASONS FOR DECISION This application, lodged by the Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union (the applicant), was for the purpose of varying the Surveyors (Private Industry) Award to apply the third $8.00 safety net adjustment. During the course of finalising this application and application T7605 of 1998, the parties agreed to a program of phased increases to reflect the Minimum Rate Adjustment process and the outcome of previous State Wage Case decisions. Simply stated, the agreement was as follows:
This consent application is consistent with the above mentioned program and the Wage Fixing Principles. I am also satisfied that it does not offend the public interest requirements of the Act, and therefore the award will be varied in the manner sought, and shall come into operation from the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 September 1998. The Order giving effect to this decision is attached.
