Industrial dispute - termination of employment - compensation settlement

REASONS FOR DECISION

This application, lodged by Steven Hedley Farquhar pursuant to section 29(1A) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (the Act) was for the hearing of an industrial dispute with the Mowbray Golf Club Inc regarding the termination of his employment.

At the hearing held on 17 August 1999, Mr W T McMillan and Mr G Jones of counsel sought and were granted leave of the Commission to appear for the respective parties.

At the commencement of the hearing, following preliminary submissions, the Commission adjourned the proceedings for the parties to discuss the matter in private with a view to settlement.

When the hearing resumed the parties advised the Commission that the dispute had been settled on the basis of the following consent order.

Order

In accordance with the power vested in me under section 31(1) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 in settlement of this dispute I hereby order by consent that the Mowbray Golf Club Inc pay to Seven Hedley Farquhar of 30 Roseburn Road, Rosevale, 7292, the sum of one thousand, eight hundred and forty-five dollars.
