(T8611 of 1999)

PRINTING AUTHORITY OF TASMANIA AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

HOBART, 4 October 1999

Award variation - salaries - Printing Authority of Tasmania Industrial Agreement - Principle 3 - Enterprise Bargaining - Commission satisfied - award varied - operative ffpp 4 October 1999

REASONS FOR DECISION

This was an application made under section 23(1) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (the Act) by the Automotive, Food, Metals, Engineering, Printing & Kindred Industries Union (the AMWU) for a variation to be made to the Printing Authority of Tasmania Award (the Award).

In particular, the application sought to transfer into the Award the rates of pay presently specified in the Printing Authority of Tasmania Industrial Agreement 1997.

The AMWU submitted in support of its application that it did not offend the requirements of the Act, nor the Wage Fixing Principles of the Commission and its approval was in the public interest.

The Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) and the Printing Authority of Tasmania, who were represented at the hearing, supported the AMWU's submissions and also sought approval for the application.

I accept the submissions of the parties and I agree specifically that the application fulfils the requirements of Wage Fixing Principle 3 - Enterprise Bargaining.

The application is approved with effect from the date of this decision.

An order is attached.
