TR472
TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Transport Workers' Union of Australia (Victorian/Tasmanian Branch)
Application by an organisation for registration as an organisation of employees- registration granted with effect from 19 January 2000 REASONS FOR DECISION This application for registration was lodged by the Transport Workers' Union of Australia (Victorian/Tasmanian) Branch on 26 July 1999. The matter did not proceed to hearing immediately because alterations to the rules of the Transport Workers' Union of Australia, to include amongst other things a new Victorian/Tasmanian Branch, had not at that time been finalised by the Australian Industrial Registry. Having regard to the submissions of Mr A. Forsyth, at a hearing convened on 18 November 1999, I am satisfied that the application for registration by the Transport Worker's Union of Australia (Victorian/Tasmanian) Branch complies with the requirements specified in the Industrial Relations Act 1984 and the application is now granted. I shall now forward this application for registration to the President for referral to a Commissioner for the determination of award interest. A certificate of registration will be issued pursuant to Section 64(1) following the determination of award interest.
