TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No. 1 Branch The Community and Public Sector Union COMMUNITY AND HEALTH SERVICES (PUBLIC SECTOR) AWARD
Award variation - kilometreage allowance - consent applications - applications approved - award varied - operative date 24 January 2001 REASONS FOR DECISION On 6 February and 9 February 2001 applications were lodged by the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No. 1 Branch (HSUA) and The Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) (CPSU), pursuant to Section 23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Community and Health Services (Public Sector) Award. When these applications came on for hearing on 1 March 2001 Mr T Jacobson appeared for the HSUA and the CPSU. Mr A Pearce appeared for the Minister administering the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984. Mr Jacobson explained that the substance of these applications had previously been the subject of a decision of Watling DP on 25 January 2001.1 It subsequently became apparent that the applications were flawed in that certain allowances relating to kilometreage had been transposed. The applications currently before the Commission sought to restore the intended position. Mr Pearce indicated consent to the applications. The applications are granted effective from 24 January 2001. The Order reflecting this decision is attached.
