TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1984 Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union PRODUCE AWARD
Award variation - Minimum Rate Adjustment - consent matter - application granted - award varied - operative date ffpp 3 October 2001 REASONS FOR DECISION [1] On 6 September 2001, an application was lodged by Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union, pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Produce Award to give effect to the Third Minimum Rate Adjustment in accordance with the Wage Fixing Principles of the Tasmanian Industrial Commission and undertakings given in T7906 of 1998. [2] When this matter came on for hearing on 18 September 2001, Mr I Paterson appeared for the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union. Mr R Rollins appeared for the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited. The parties both presented submissions in support of the application. [3] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and not contrary to the public interest. The application is therefore granted with the variations to operate from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 3 October 2001. The order reflecting this decision is attached.
