TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.63(10)(c) determination of award interest

Hairdressing Federation of Tasmania
(TR474 of 2001)

HAIRDRESSERS AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

HOBART, 13 JULY 2001

Award interest - determination - interest granted - award varied - operative 4 July 2001 - forwarded to Acting Registrar to issue Certificate of Registration

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] This was an application made under Section 63 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (the Act) by the Hairdressing Federation of Tasmania (the Federation) seeking registration as an organisation under Part V of the Act.

[2] As part of its application the Federation was also seeking an interest in the Hairdressers Award (the award).

[3] After granting the registration, the Acting Registrar, in accordance with the Act, Section 63, subsection (10), forwarded the application to the President who referred the matter to me to determine in which award of the Commission the Federation was to have an interest.

[4] As required by the Act, all other parties already having an interest in the Award were notified of the hearing date for this application.

[5] At the hearing, after submissions from the Federation, I was satisfied that the requirements of the Act had been met. There were no objections to the application.

[6] Accordingly, I determine that the Federation has an interest in the award, effective from 4 July 2001.

[7] As required by the Act, Section 63, subsection (12), a copy of this determination will be forwarded to the Acting Registrar and further, as required by Section 63, subsection (12A), an order varying the award, consistent with this determination, is attached.
