TASMANIAN INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION

Industrial Relations Act 1984
s.23 application for award or variation of award

Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union
(T10075 of 2002)

PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS AWARD

COMMISSIONER P A IMLACH

HOBART, 15 MARCH 2002

Award variation - 2nd MRA - award updated - application granted - operative ffpp 13/3/02

REASONS FOR ORDER

[1] This was an application made under section 23(1) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (the Act) by the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (the union) for a variation to be made to the Public Accountants Award (the award).

[2] The union was applying for the second Minimum Rates Adjustment (MRA) to be implemented in the award.

[3] At the hearing of the application the union referred to the application which included a draft order which reflected the details of the second MRA as agreed by the parties in matter T7907 of 1998 1 which, amongst other variations, introduced the first MRA into the award.

[4] In seeking approval for the application both parties submitted that it was consistent with the Principles of the Commission and the requirements of the Act. They agreed that the proposed variation should commence to operate from the first full pay period on or after 13 March 2002.

[5] I accept the submissions of the parties: the award will be amended as requested, operative from the agreed date.

[6] An order is attached.
