REASONS FOR DECISION
On 21 May 2002, these five applications were lodged by the Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania), pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, to vary the Community and Health Services (Public Sector) Award, the General Conditions of Employment Award, the Police Departmental Employees Award and the Sea Fisheries Award to adjust a range of expense related allowances in accordance with the Consumer Price Index.
I approve these applications as they do not offend the requirements of Section 36 of the Act relating to matters of public interest nor the Wage Fixing Principles.
The orders varying the relevant awards, which accompany this decision, will come into operation from the beginning of the first full pay period to commence on or after 30 May 2002.
