Award variation - application amended - wage rates - third Minimum Rate Adjustment - consent matter - application granted - award varied - operative date ffpp 1 July 2002 REASONS FOR DECISION [1] This application, pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, made by the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch, was for the purpose of vary the Hairdressing, Health and Beauty Industry Award to apply the penultimate Minimum Rate Adjustment. [2] The matter was listed for hearing on Tuesday, 2 July 2002 at 10.30 am. [3] During the hearing, Mr P Griffin for the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association, Tasmanian Branch, sought and was granted leave to amend the application in the form shown in Exhibit G.1 (as amended). [4] The matter came before the Commission with the consent of the parties. This third Minimum Rate Adjustment formed part of an agreed program established at the commencement of the Minimum Rate Adjustment process. The agreement is consistent with that program and the Wage Fixing Principles, therefore the award will be varied in the manner sought. [5] The Order giving effect to this decision is attached and will be operative from the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 July 2002.
