Industrial agreement - application approved - operative date 1 December 2002 - 1 year REASONS FOR DECISION (1) On 3 December 2002 The Australian Workers' Union, Tasmania Branch (AWU) and Derwent Pipelines Pty Ltd lodged with the Acting Registrar, pursuant to Section 55(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, the Derwent Pipelines Enterprise Agreement. [2] When this matter came on for hearing on 10 December 2002, Mr I Wakefield appeared for the AWU. Mr R Garner appeared for Derwent Pipelines Pty Ltd. [3] Mr Wakefield explained that this Agreement replaces the Derwent Foundry Enterprise Agreement. [4] The only changes from the previous Agreement are a wage increase of $15 pw and an alteration to the Annual Close down clause. [5] Mr Garner indicated consent to the Agreement. [6] I am satisfied that the Agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act. [7] Pursuant to section 55[4] of the Act the Agreement is approved operative from 1 December 2002 and shall remain in force for a period of one year. [8] The file will now be referred to the Acting Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
