Award variation - application amended - State Wage Case July 2003 - Meal allowances increased to $12.30 - consent matter - application granted- award varied - operative date ffpp 1 August 2003 REASONS FOR DECISION [1] This consent application was made pursuant to s.23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, by the Tasmanian Catholic Education Employees' Association (the TCEEA) to vary Part IV - Allowances, Clause 1 - Cost Related Allowances by increasing the meal allowance to $12.30 consistent with the Full Bench State Wage Case decision dated 10 July 2003, T No.10928 of 2003. [2] At the commencement of the hearing, Ms A Briant for the TCEEA sought and was granted leave to amend the application to also vary Part V - Hours of Work and Overtime, Clause 4 Overtime - Non-Teaching Employees at subclause (f) to increase the meal money to $12.30. [3] Ms Thomas advised that the TCCI consented to the amendment. [4] I am satisfied that the application is consistent with the Wage Fixing Principles and the increases to the meal allowance (however described) are consistent with the Full Bench decision arising out of the 2003 State Wage Case. [5] In the circumstances, I approve the variations to the award as outlined above. [6] The Order giving effect to this decision is attached.
