REASONS FOR DECISION

This is an application for registration as an organisation of employers by The Association of Independent Schools of Tasmania Incorporated.

A hearing was convened on 10 July 2003 for the purpose of determining the application.

Having regard to the submissions of Mr M. Shorter at the hearing, I am satisfied that the requirements specified in the Industrial Relations Act 1984 have been complied with and accordingly the application is granted and the organisation is registered effective from 22 July 2003.

I shall now forward this application for registration to the President for referral to a Commissioner for the determination of award interest.

A certificate of registration will be issued pursuant to Section 64(1) following the determination of award interest.
