Industrial agreement - application to become party to an industrial agreement

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] In Matter T No. 11450 of 2004 the Commission registered an agreement to be known as the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2004 (the Agreement). The Agreement came into effect on and from the first pay period commencing 1 January 2004 and will remain in force until 31 December 2006.

[2] The parties to the Agreement are:

The Minister administering the State Service Act 2000; the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia; the Australian Education Union, Tasmanian Branch; the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical & Services Union; the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia; the Community and Public Sector Union (State Public Services Federation Tasmania) Inc; the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No 1 Branch; the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union, Tasmanian Branch and the Tasmanian Correctional Officers Association.

[3] The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) by application pursuant to s.57 of the Act sought to become a party to the Agreement.

[4] There being no objection by any of the parties to the Agreement the Commission consents to the application.

[5] Accordingly the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union will be a named party to the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2004, effective from the operative date of the Agreement being 1 January 2004.
