REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 6 May 2005, the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia and Altus Traffic Pty Ltd lodged with the Registrar, pursuant to Section 55(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, the Altus Traffic Pty Ltd (ABN 84102768061) and Altus Resources Pty Ltd (ABN 79112005624) Enterprise Agreement 2005.

[2] When this matter came on for hearing on 17 May 2005, Mr K Harkins and Ms N Wells appeared for the CEPU. Mr C Zagni appeared for Altus Traffic Pty Ltd.

[3] After hearing submissions from the parties I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act.

[4] Pursuant to s.55(4) of the Act, the agreement is approved operative from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 23 March 2005 and shall remain in force until 31 January 2006.

[5] The file will now be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
