REASONS FOR DECISION
[1] This application, lodged pursuant to s.55 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 by the Australian Education Union, Tasmanian Branch and the Minister Administering the State Service Act 2000, was for the purpose of filing an industrial agreement with the Commission.
[2] On 22 August 2005, the Commission convened a hearing at Commonwealth Law Courts, 39-41 Davey Street, Hobart, Tasmania, before myself, to commence on Wednesday, 7 September 2005 at 9.30 am. Further hearings were listed for 8 September 2005 and 7 December 2005.
[3] The agreement, to be known as the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Salaries and Conditions of Employment Agreement 2005, is to be operative on and from 7 December and it is to remain in force until 28 February 2007.
[5] Mr C Lane for the Australian Education Union, Tasmanian Branch and Mr C Willingham for the Minister Administering the State Service Act 2000 with Mr G Payne, presented submissions in support of the consent application.
[6] Having considered the submission of the parties, I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act, and I decide accordingly.
[7] The file will now be referred to the Registrar in accordance with the requirements of s.56(1) of the Act.
