REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] This is an application, pursuant to s.55 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (The Act) to approve and register an agreement to be known as the South Eastern Nursing and Home Care Association Inc. Home Care Workers Industrial Agreement 2006.

[2] The parties to the agreement are the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No 1 Branch, Southern Eastern Nursing and Home Care Association Inc. and all home care worker employees (whether members of a registered organisation or not).

[3] The agreement is operative from the first full pay period on or after 24 March 2006 and will remain in force for a period of 3 years.

[4] I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act.

[5] Pursuant to s.55 (4) of the Act the agreement is approved.

[6] The file will be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of s.56(1) of the Act.
