REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] This is an application pursuant to s 23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (the Act) by the Australian Education Union, Tasmanian Branch (AEU) to make an award to be known as the Tasmanian TAFE Teachers' Award (the award).

[2] The following employee organisation has an interest in the award pursuant to s.63(10) of the Act.

[3] The following employer organisation has an interest in the award pursuant to s.62(4) of the Act.

The Minister administering the State Service Act 2000.

[4] The award has been negotiated by the parties and is presented to the Commission by consent.

[5] I have perused the provisions found in the award and am satisfied that it is in accord with the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act.

[6] The award came into effect from the first full pay period on or after 24 March 2006.
