REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] This is an application, pursuant to s.55 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 (The Act) to approve and register an agreement to be known as the MIA Tasmania Pty Ltd Nurses Industrial Agreement 2005.

[2] The parties to the agreement are the Australian Nursing Federation Tasmanian Branch and MIA Tasmania Pty Ltd.

[3] The agreement is operative from the first full pay period on or after 1 February 2006 and will remain in force until 31 August 2008.

[4] I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act.

[5] Pursuant to s.55 (4) of the Act the agreement is approved.

[6] The file will be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of s.56(1) of the Act.
