CASSIDY'S ELECTRICAL PTY LTD AGREEMENT 2006-2008

COMMISSIONER T J ABEY

HOBART, 11 September 2006

Industrial agreement - application approved - operative date 29 August 2006 - 1 March 2009 - forwarded to Registrar for registration

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 29 August 2006, the Communications, Electrical, Electronic, Energy, Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union of Australia (CEPU) and Cassidy's Electrical Pty Ltd lodged with the Registrar, pursuant to Section 55(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, the Cassidy's Electrical Pty Ltd Agreement 2006-2008.

[2] When this matter came on for hearing on 11 September 2006, Mr K Harkins appeared for the CEPU and, with written authority, for Cassidy's Electrical Pty Ltd.

[3] Mr Harkins advised that this agreement had been negotiated in a cooperative atmosphere and had the full support of the employees affected.

[4] I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act, and does not disadvantage the employees concerned.

[5] Pursuant to s(55)(4) the agreement is approved operative from 29 August 2006 and shall remain in force until 1 March 2009.

[6] The file will now be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
