ANNIE KENNEY/ASU SALARY PACKAGING AGREEMENT 2006

COMMISSIONER T J ABEY

HOBART, 20 September 2006

Industrial agreement - application approved - operative date 29 August 2006 - forwarded to Registrar for registration

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] On 31 August 2006, the Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union (AMACSU) and Annie Kenney Inc. lodged with the Registrar, pursuant to Section 55(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, the Annie Kenney/ASU Salary Packaging Agreement 2006.

[2] When this matter came on for hearing on 20 September 2006, Mr C Dodds appeared for AMACSU. Ms A Hurd appeared for Annie Kenney Inc.

[3] Mr Dodds explained that the purpose of the agreement was to facilitate salary packaging consistent with relevant Commonwealth legislation.

[4] Ms Hurd consented to the application.

[5] I am satisfied that the agreement is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest requirements of the Act, and does not disadvantage the employees concerned.

[6] Pursuant to s55(4) of the Act, the agreement is approved operative from 29 August 2006 and shall remain in force for a period of three years.

[7] The file will now be referred to the Registrar for registration in accordance with the requirements of Section 56(1) of the Act.
