Amalgamation

REASONS FOR DECISION

[1] This is an application for amalgamation pursuant to Section 67A of the Industrial Relations Act 1984 lodged jointly by the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union - Tasmanian Branch and the Tasmanian Correctional Officers Association.

[2] After hearing the applicants I am satisfied that the requirements of Section 67A(2)(a) and (b) have been met and accordingly the application is granted and the amalgamated organization is granted from 9 March 2006.

[3] In accordance with the requirements of Section 67A(3)(a) the registration of the organizations referred to above is cancelled and a certificate of registration in the name of the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union - Tasmanian Branch will be issued bearing the names of those awards in which the deregistered organizations formerly held an interest.
