Award variation - School Based Traineeships - consent application - application approved - operative date ffpp 3 January 2007 REASONS FOR DECISION [1] This application was lodged, pursuant to s 23 of the Industrial Relations Act 1984, by the Minister administering the State Service Act 2000 (the Minister), to vary the Tasmanian State Service National Training Wage Award (the award). [2] When this matter came on for hearing on 3 January 2007, Mr P Baker appeared for the Minister; and Mr T Jacobson for the Health Services Union of Australia, Tasmania No. 1 Branch. [3] Having heard the submissions of the parties, I am satisfied that the award should be varied by replacing paragraphs (i), (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) at Clause 12(c) - School Based Traineeship with the following paragraph:
[4] In approving the application, I am satisfied it is consistent with both the Wage Fixing Principles and the public interest test required pursuant to s.36 of the Act. [5] The consolidation of the award reflecting this variation is attached and will take effect from the first full pay period to commence on or after 3 January 2007.
